In my heart there is a city named after you
And for all the cities that are not, they have streets named after you
In my heart there are streets named after you
In each street named after you, they smell different from others
They smell of you in the morning
But then again, the noon, the afternoon and the night as well
The air is different
And the people in the streets they know you, they talk of you and they smile
They like the street and they maintain it with Love
You can often see them sweeping the dust away, repainting their houses and tending their rose gardens
In my heart there is a street named after you
I'm not sure how many people live there but I think they are comfortable
They find their own space and the space is enough
And if I remember correctly, you lived there once
Or someone with the same name
In my heart there is a person named after you
There's a huge mansion on top a hill
That's so perfectly dramatic, an almost theatrical setting but there you have it, a huge mansion on top of a hill
That smells exceptionally of you and the air whispers your presence
Every corner of it feels like you've just been there
I don't think the people in other cities in the streets named after you know that the mansion is uninhabited
They kind of like you and they remember you and I don't want to tell them that

In my heart there is a city named after you
But it is unpopulated
And from the last I've heard of it, nothing is left but dust and ashes

Imprisoned inside this mind
Hiding behind the empty smiles
So simple is the anguish
As it haunts me
Crawling back into the dark

Running, always running, into the distance
Stop me before I bleed, again
The echoes of my voice
Follow me down
The shadows I cast
Follow me down

Deeper I'm falling
Into the arms of sorrow
Blindly descending
Into the arms of sorrow

There must be serenity

The echoes of my voice
Follow me down
The shadows I cast
Follow me down
