Imagine you bought a book and decided that you're going to read it someday. But your busy schedule pulls you down; leaving you with no free time for the book. Finally one day, you cleared out your busy activities, and shut yourself away from civilization.
You opened the book and flipped to the first page, slowly, you started reading attentively; like a child listening to a teacher in class. But after a few pages, you found out that the book is not to your liking.
Therefore, you abandoned the book.
You blamed the book for wasting your precious time. You blamed the book for wasting your money.
But have you thought that perhaps the best has yet to come? Have you thought that perhaps the story was just beginning and that you've not even understand the story?
The book was left on the shelf for months never to be touched again. Then one day, while visiting your house, your friend spotted this book. He asked to borrow the book and you agreed because you've forgotten about the book and you dismiss it as something you've read.
A few weeks later, your friend returns, he describes the book as something amazing, something so beautifully illustrated. You looked at him, puzzled, as you cannot remember having read such a book.
Then it dawned on you, it was the book that you abandoned. Somehow, it didn't match with what your friend is saying. The book wasn't as interesting when you read it.
Your friend just shrugged his shoulder and said, "Maybe you should have finished the book."
"Maybe you should have finished the book."
Maybe you should have know me more before you start to judge.
Is it possible for humans to change so drastically that they become like a complete stranger to you?
Their actions, words, thoughts just don't feel the same anymore.
Then they started to shun away from you with reason that left you baffled and out of words. It's always the stupid reason, it's always them.
Sometimes you realized that life has no options.
And I told myself, "Stop hitting yourself. Stop hitting yourself. Why are you still hitting yourself?"
But still, I didn't stop.
