My parents came back from Yunan yesterday midnight at around 3am. I wasn't really quite expecting them to be back so early since they said they'll be gone for 10 days. Therefore my house is currently in a serious state of mess, and I'm ordered to clean it up as soon as possible. Anyway, they brought back some weird looking souvenirs for me and my brother.

This is a keychain thing which looks strangely like a voodoo doll of some sorts. I wonder if the doll is cursed by some aboriginal tribe.

Then there's this pouch thingy with this little aboriginal girl on it. I admit it's kinda girly but I really like the color combination and the fact that it's hand-made.
My parent also brought back lots and lots of Yunan food which I'm just too lazy to take picture of. I counted the packets already, there's about 30 over packets of stuff. I'm also not sure what they contain, but mostly cakes and dried food.
Don't mind the background as I was transposing and arranging songs when I took those pictures. Normally people won't notice but someone like Ahfat will take extra notice because she's extremely free.

Temperature Screening in NYP

As a safeguard to staff and students, NYP will be instituting the following measures with effect from 4 May 2009:

1. NYP will be implementing temperature taking for all personnel on campus with effect from Monday, 4 May 2009.

2. All students are required to go to the Temperature Assessment Centre (TAC) for thermo-screening upon arriving at NYP campus. The TAC is located at the Auditorium Lobby and Function Room, Block A, and will be open from 7.30am to 7.00pm on weekdays.

3. Each student who has cleared the TAC screening will be issued a sticker that will be valid for only half a day, i.e. AM or PM. The AM sticker is valid from 7.30am to 2.00pm while the PM sticker is from 11.30am to 7.00pm. If your temperature reading is normal, you will be issued with either an AM or PM sticker. Immediately after that, you will have to flash your student card on card reader to have your particulars captured in our system.

4. A student staying on campus for the entire day will need to be screened at the TAC twice, that is, the first one in the morning from 7.30am onwards and the second one from 11.30am onwards. You are advised to consult your lecturers for any further clarifications needed pertaining to this temperature taking regime at NYP.

5. You are hereby advised on the following:

a. Temperature taking at TAC will be made compulsory from Tuesday, 5 May 2009 onwards.
b. Please wear your lanyard and student card at all times on campus.
c. It is compulsory to wear valid stickers at all times whenever you are on campus.

6. Students who have returned from affected countries within the last seven days, or have been in contact with any person, who has returned from the affected countries, are advised to stay at home and notify your personal mentors as soon as possible.

Okay, so now we have to take temperatures like small kids too. But well, like what Bimbo said, precaution is better than cure. Anyway, it's pretty good for me because I can have more excuses to be late. At least it's better than giving lame excuses like "I'm late because the train stopped at every stop." I heard that this temperature taking exercise is compulsory. And that there will be guards situated around NYP to prevent people from entering without taking temperature.

I also heard that there will be barricades and tanks surrounding our school in case of intruders. By intruders, I mean those that did not take their temperatures. So everyone please be careful so as not to be shot at, or try to wear a bullet proof vest to school daily. And as for Ahfat, please try not to wear pink or else they might mistake you for a pig. =D
But I'm sure this whole exercise is going to affect everyone a lot, mainly hardworking student like me who wish to get good results. Knowing our fellow schoolmates, the temperature taking process will definitely take longer than normal. Let's just hope that I won't miss out a lot of the important lessons.

Nowadays, I'm making the effort to try and blog daily. The keyword is try, doesn't mean I'll really do it but I'll try. But with all the things going on lately, it's hard not to blog daily, so be sure to visit my blog daily to read more random stuffs.
